COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide an orientation to the world of work. Our focus will be on becoming more self-aware and making wise educational and occupational decisions as students plan their futures. Additionally, as time permits, we will incorporate as many computer skills as possible in order to prepare students for their high school experience.
GRADING:
· Class Work 30%
· Quizzes 20%
· Unit Tests 25% (there are 4)
· Cumulative Exams 25% (there are 2)
NOTE: This course requires an End of Course exam given statewide. The final cumulative exam will be this test!
HOMEWORK:
The majority of work will be done in class with very little homework. Students will HAVE to use class time wisely in order to complete assignments!
SUPPLIES:
· Pencil or pen every day
· Paper for taking notes
TEACHER EXPECTATIONS
· Listen, Read, and Follow all instructions, both written and oral!
· Be in ASSIGNED seat when bell rings.
· Read board to determine day’s activities and lessons and get started on Warm Up Activity!
· Students are responsible for completing all work and turning it in! MISSING WORK is counted as a ZERO!! Work must be turned in within 5 days of an absence.
· At all times, be respectful of yourself, fellow students, the teacher and the equipment.
· No FOOD or DRINK in Computer Lab!!!
· No visits to unauthorized or unassigned web sites or programs!!
